Palin’s speech at the National Tea Party Convention

Her participation at the convention in Nashville, TN was not without controversy, but whether you agree or disagree, whether you love or hate Palin, she was there and she commanded a following. She came on stage proclaiming “proud to be American,” gave thanks to the armed services members past and present, and acknowledged Ronald Reagan’s [...]

Democrats dropping out of races

Wow, if this isn’t a sure sign of President Obama’s and the Democrats’ troubles ahead, I don’t know what is:
[Kansas state senator Laura] Kelly joins several recent dropouts, including businessman Jack McDonald, a well-funded challenger to Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) who announced last week that he wouldn’t run. The others are Ohio state Rep. Todd [...]

Another example of failed government health care: TennCare

The debate of universal health care often draws on the example of Massachusetts’ system, but there is another example from Tennessee, TennCare, with an interesting tie to the Obama administration:

An example of what to expect with government-run health care

Patients from V.A. clinics in Tennessee and Georgia are infected with hepatitis and other viruses, and the number could rise. The infections are due to using unsterilized equipment! That’s the quality government health care you’ll get if the system is nationalized.

Even Democrats are growing wary of Obama

President Obama and his team now has to worry about dissent within his own party. Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen may join the handful of Republican governors to reject the federal stimulus for the state’s unemployed. (It’s interesting that so far these defiant governors are all from the South.)
Then there’s Sen. Byrd (D-WV) voicing his opinion [...]
