MA-05: Meet Sam Meas

The election drama in Massachusetts climaxed with Republican Scott Brown’s victory to fill the late Sen. Ted Kennedy’s seat, a first time in a long time since a Republican represented the Bay State in the Senate. Although Sen. Brown shares an exciting “dark horse” story against his opponent Martha Coakley, there’s an even more intriguing [...]

Liberals openly abandoning hope and change

Starting with NYT columnist and Nobel Prize recipient Paul Krugman:
In a post on his blog Wednesday night titled “He Wasn’t the One We’ve Been Waiting For,” Krugman eviscerated Obama for, in the columnist’s view, not stepping up during a crucial moment in his presidency.
“Progressives are desperately in need of leadership; more specifically, House Democrats need [...]

The Democratic circular firing squad

It’s great to see Scott Brown becoming the senator-elect of Massachusetts. But it sure is entertaining to see the Democrats and liberals in an epic crap throwing contest. Against each other!
Even before the polls closed, word got out that a Coakley adviser sent out a memo blaming the Washington Democrats for acting too late:

National Dems [...]

No Palin? No problem, in Massachusetts

The hotly contested Massachusetts Senate race gained the attention of nearly all the 2008 Republican presidential candidates: John McCain, Rudy Giuliani, and Mitt Romney, and not to mention Democratic presidents like Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. But one person remained interestingly quiet throughout the race: Sarah Palin.
Why didn’t Palin endorse Scott Brown, fully aware that [...]

Can Obama get his groove back?

Failure of presidential proportions. That’s how I’d describe President Obama after Coakley’s loss to Brown in Massachusetts. Think about it. Obama only seems to be able to get himself elected and nobody else.
He failed to deliver for Jon Corzine (D-NJ) and Creigh Deeds (D-VA), they both lost their governorships. He helped Chicago get eliminated in [...]

Scott Brown wins, takes seat for the people

Currently with 75% of precincts reporting, Scott Brown (R-MA) is leading Martha Coakley (D) by a 7% margin. All news outlets have called Brown the winner. Coakley has just conceded.
Welcome to Washington, Sen. Brown! Now do your constituents proud.

Coakley channels King, continues drop in polls, empty phone banks

Things are not looking good for Martha Coakley (D-MA) in tomorrow’s special election.
In a desperate but unsurprising move on MLK Day, the Democrat plays the King card:
Coakley, in her remarks at the breakfast, linked her candidacy to the legacy of King and Edward M. Kennedy. “If you send me to the Senate, I will be [...]

Pre-election drama in Massachusetts

As the nation awaits for Tuesday’s senate election in Massachusetts, there’s already talk of possible vote tampering and the term limit of interim Sen. Paul Kirk (D-MA).
Apparently Massachusetts uses voting machines which have been proven to be easily hacked:
The Diebold electronic voting machines to be used in more than 90% of the state’s districts are [...]

Will Coakley pull a Deeds?

In light of the recent news concerning Brown (R) vs. Coakley (D), I get the feeling that Massachusetts isn’t the Land of the Kennedys any more? Well, Patrick Kennedy still thinks the seat belongs to his family.
But I think the good people of Massachusetts are ready to move on. Is the Coakley camp on self [...]

Some Democrats would like Brown victory

I’m with Erick Erickson on this. The highly contested Massachusetts Senate race between Scott Brown (R) and Martha Coakley (D) could mean killing ObamaCare by reducing the Democratic majority to 59. Nobody could be happier than the likes of Sen. Ben Nelson (D-NE), Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-AR), Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA), etc. Facing unprecedented disapproval [...]

Poll has Brown up by 4

Suffolk University has a new poll on the Massachusetts U.S. Senate race, and it’s not looking good for Democrat Martha Coakley. The poll has Scott Brown (R) leading by four points — still within the margin of error, but encouraging news for the Brown camp nonetheless.
What’s on the minds of voters? Health care reform:
Yet even [...]

Near doom: Obama sends video to support Coakley campaign

Republicans will find comfort in that President Obama has made a video in support of Martha Coakley (D-MA) in her fight against Scott Brown (R).
We all know what happened the last time President Obama rallied for a Democrat in a tight race, right? Let’s just say that New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine will soon join [...]

It’s the people’s seat

The highlight of the debate between Scott Brown (R-MA) vs. Martha Coakley (D-MA) came when the Senate seat was referred to as late Sen. Ted Kennedy’s seat.
No sir, it’s the people’s seat. Brown made sure everyone understood that.
It was a breath of fresh air.
Scott Brown’s campaign also raised more than $1 million in one day [...]

Liberals in panic mode as MA senate race intensifies

January 19, the crucial U.S. senate election in Massachusetts between Scott Brown (R) and Martha Coakley (D) — the difference between a continued Senate Democratic majority or handing Senate Republicans #41. This election is ever so important because the Democrat House and Senate leadership are currently working behind closed doors to merge the gigantic health [...]
