Democrats dropping out of races

Wow, if this isn’t a sure sign of President Obama’s and the Democrats’ troubles ahead, I don’t know what is:
[Kansas state senator Laura] Kelly joins several recent dropouts, including businessman Jack McDonald, a well-funded challenger to Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) who announced last week that he wouldn’t run. The others are Ohio state Rep. Todd [...]

Boxer and Denialgate

This isn’t a post about Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and her misuse of taxpayer funds for a vacation in east Africa (never happened).
It’s about her idiotic remarks about Climategate:
Boxer, the top Democrat on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, said that the recently released e-mails, showing scientists allegedly overstating the case for climate change, [...]

Tasty nuts found from ACORN dumpster dive

The downfall of ACORN continues… this time implicating the organization (a branch office in San Diego County) for massive dumping of documents days before the visit by California Attorney General Jerry Brown. Many of the documents contain sensitive information of employees and clients.
ACORN will never come clean on its own. The liberal organization has the [...]

Dear U.C. students: There are plenty of cheaper universities available

Let’s hope the nation’s next generation of leaders and activists do not come from the University of California system, where students are protesting a tuition hike — $2,500 by summer of 2010. The recession is hitting everyone and every business hard, and no doubt students are struggling as well.
But suck it up, kids. If you [...]

Twenty percent of the union face imminent bankruptcy:
Those states in fiscal peril include California, Arizona, Rhode Island, Michigan, Oregon, Nevada, Florida, New Jersey, Illinois and Wisconsin.

Liberal Democrats push health care for illegals

About twenty liberal Democrats are advocating the allowance of illegal aliens to have some sort of coverage in the health care reform even though President Obama and Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT) have resisted the idea. Rep. Michael Honda (D-CA), a member of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, and his peers reason that:
“Legal permanent residents [...]

Support the “Fighting Four”

Have you heard of the “Fighting Four“? These are four Republican candidates in high profile senate races. The candidates are:

Chuck DeVore (CA) – He’s an assemblyman in Orange County, CA and acclaimed author of China Attacks, a novel that’s banned by Beijing. Mr. DeVore is fighting to release Californians from incumbent Sen. Barbara Boxer’s liberal [...]

Blue Dog to Pelosi: What votes?

In a public blow to House Speaker Pelosi (D-CA) over her confidence of enough votes to pass ObamaCare, a leading Blue Dog Democrat Rep. Mike Ross (D-AR) tells a very different story:
“No, I don’t think they have the votes,” Rep. Mike Ross, D-Ark., said, arguing if that were the case he and the other six [...]

Pelosi fans the wealth-envy fire

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has an idea that’ll make Obamacare an easier pill to swallow: up the income limit for the surcharge. The proposed bill as it stands would hike taxes for individuals with annual adjusted gross income of $280,000, or $350,000 for families.
Pelosi wants to make it $500,000 before the taxes kick in.
That’s [...]

Surprise! House Resolution celebrating M.J. did nothing to fix economy, create jobs, improve health

Thank you, Reps. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-TX) and Diane Watson (D-CA) for introducing H.Res. 600 celebrating Michael Jackson’s life achievements. These 1,539 words of legislation introduced on June 26 and the time that will be spent on it will no doubt be a waste of lawmakers’ time and taxpayers’ money.
Why couldn’t the Congresswomen just buy Michael [...]

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is reaching out to Michael Jackson fans worldwide for donations to help cover the city’s cost of services related to the memorial held at Staples Center. The city had to close highways, roads, and dispatch extra police forces, emergency crews, and not to mention the helicopters and cars. The bill? [...]

Big banks reject California IOUs

Now what, California? Some of the biggest banks don’t want your IOUs. And there’s this gem from State Controller John Chiang:
The development is the latest twist in California’s struggle to deal with the effects of the recession. After state leaders failed to agree on budget solutions last week, California began issuing IOUs — or “individual [...]

Flat tax proposed for California

We all know California is in deep economic trouble. Its GDP surpasses even some nations, but lately the state is on a downward spiral of economic decline. It’s in so much trouble that the Governator Arnold Schwarzeneggar (R), considered by some to be a RINO, is proposing a flat tax.
It’s a good idea: simple to [...]
