DOJ shut down FBI’s ACORN investigation

The FBI and Justice Department investigated alleged ACORN voter fraud in 2008, but subsequently in March 2009 Justice decided to close the investigation, claiming ACORN did not violate any laws:
Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced today that it has obtained documents from the Federal Bureau of [...]

Rep. Kingston’s midnight in the garden of good and evil

Georgia Congressman Jack Kingston (R) was among the few Republicans in attendance during President Obama’s visit to Savannah on Tuesday to talk about jobs and energy. The other prominent Republican was Gov. Sonny Perdue who isn’t running for re-election. Some would question the wisdom of Rep. Kingston’s decision to be seen side by side with [...]

No bouce for Reid after Obama’s visit

Our president, the Great Campaigner, is losing his magic touch. Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV), hoping to gain some traction in his re-election bid by inviting President Obama to his state for a joint appearance, remains unmoved in the latest polls:
But as Reid faces an uphill path to win re-election to a fifth Senate term, Obama’s [...]

Joseph Cao won’t support latest health care proposal

Rep. Joseph Cao (R-LA) was the only Republican in the House to vote yes on the health care bill, but will not do so again in the president’s latest proposal. His gripe? Abortion funding:
“I have conveyed to the White House that at this point I cannot support the agenda that’s being pushed because of the [...]

Health care summit, prelude to reconciliation

President Obama’s bipartisan health care summit is nothing more than a show. There are fundamental differences between Republican and Democrat ideas on health care reform, and there’s no way they will be resolved by the end of the summit (4:15pm ET, according to the president). This summit is a waste of time and energy and [...]

White House insists on health care reform, even reconciliation

President Obama refuses to give up on health care reform, even threatening to use reconciliation to pass a bill if Republicans threaten to filibuster. There are a couple of interesting points about Obama’s stubbornness…
First, he’s playing this hand before the planned bipartisan health care summit. Republicans have shown a cold shoulder to this meeting because [...]

The Democrat health care zombie

This thing just won’t die…
Lead zombie President Obama is readying a merged House and Senate health care bill, without any Republican participation, to be presented as early as Sunday or Monday. And the Democrats are going to rush it through by reconciliation:
Those agreements are likely to be combined as a privileged budget reconciliation bill, which [...]

CNN poll: Obama unfit for a second term

I wish I could see the faces of Obama’s inner circle when they read this CNN poll. The White House must be ticked off that even CNN is undermining the president’s popularity… Forget about the Rasmussen polls, I think this CNN poll speaks much louder of popular sentiment.

Lech Walesa sees no hope in Obama

Lech Walesa — leader of the Polish Solidarity movement, Nobel Peace Prize recipient, and former president of Poland — has some strong words for President Obama and America under his administration:
He no longer thinks we are the last best hope for mankind.  “The United States is only one superpower. Today they lead the world. Nobody [...]

The KSM trial: Is it or is it not NYC?

The Justice Department and White House may be considering a new — umm, old? — venue to try master terrorist Khalid Sheik Mohammed. It was supposed to be NYC because Attorney General Eric Holder thinks that’s where the crime was committed. So naturally, NYC would be the place to hold the trial.
But guess what? Hell [...]

Poor taste to scold Supreme Court during State of the Union address

What was the president thinking?
I can understand his gaffes in other countries, such as the kowtowing and bowing to foreign heads of state. But when in Congress to deliver the State of the Union address to the nation?
What. An. Idiot. Sorry, there’s no other way to spin this:
The president told a joint session of Congress [...]

Obama is in a lonely place

No matter how the White House and Democrats spin it, the voter revolt in Massachusetts to elect Republican Scott Brown is about the American people rejecting President Obama and his big government agenda. Democrats and President Obama and his inner circle of advisers grew overly arrogant from their 2006 and 2008 victories and thought it [...]

John Yoo schools Jon Stewart, Marc Thiessen confronts Christiane Amanpour

Former Bush administration DOJ offiial John Yoo made an appearance on The Daily Show to discuss waterboarding with Jon Stewart. Yoo was instrumental in clearing the way for the Defense Department to categorize al Qaeda terrorists as enemy combatants, therefore not subject to the Geneva Conventions. He also offered legal opinion which allowed the CIA [...]

The Democratic circular firing squad

It’s great to see Scott Brown becoming the senator-elect of Massachusetts. But it sure is entertaining to see the Democrats and liberals in an epic crap throwing contest. Against each other!
Even before the polls closed, word got out that a Coakley adviser sent out a memo blaming the Washington Democrats for acting too late:

National Dems [...]
