Any news about Sarah Palin will send the left into a tizzy. Apparently some on the right may be showing the same symptoms.

Like David Frum, who makes his case with a bunch of CNN polls showing Palin’s problem with women. Hmmm, somehow I don’t think CNN attracts the demographics of Palin supporters?

No matter. As Frum states:

If you like Palin – well go ahead. It’s a free country. But quit saying that “the people” love Sarah Palin.

They don’t. Actually, they quite dislike her. The longer they know her, the more they dislike her. And even more than they dislike her, they do not respect her. That reaction of dislike and disrespect is most concentrated among American women.

Sarah’s constituency is a relatively small cohort of conservative men. I offended a lot of these people last week by suggesting that there was some sexual dynamic at work in the enthusiasm for the politician whom Rush Limbaugh used to describe as “Governor Babe.” So let’s put it this way: Whatever impulse it is that so excites Palin supporters, it is not shared by their wives.

I believe that there are folks within the Republican establishment who do not wish to see Palin’s surge in popularity, especially in leading the conservative movement. After all, it’s the conservatives who dealt the blow to the GOP in 2006 and 2008. Trust me, there are Republicans who actually hate conservatives. And thanks to John McCain, Sarah Palin leaped onto the national stage and boldly took the lead in promoting conservative principles.

Look at how NY-23 played out. Which candidate did the Republican establishment endorse? Which candidate did the likes of Newt Gingrich publicly support? And who did Sarah Palin endorse to the dismay of the GOP establishment?

Which candidate did David Frum endorse?
