(ESPN Boston) Professional Boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr claims that NY Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin is getting national attention because he is Chinese-American, rather than his exceptional play.

“Jeremy Lin is a good player but all the hype is because he is Asian. Black players do what he does every night and don’t get the same praise,” Mayweather wrote in a Tweet yesterday.

Lin born in Los Angeles and grew up in Palo Alto was Captain of his H.S. basketball team in his Senior year (2005-2006) and was named First Team All State & Northern California Div II Player of the Year

Even Spike Lee told Mayweather to “RECOGNIZE.” Now, that’s something coming from Lee, as noted by HotAir. Good on Lin staying above the fray.
