Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is reaching out to Michael Jackson fans worldwide for donations to help cover the city’s cost of services related to the memorial held at Staples Center. The city had to close highways, roads, and dispatch extra police forces, emergency crews, and not to mention the helicopters and cars. The bill? $3.8 million.
Not a good thing considering California is already out of cash and issuing IOUs. For the sake of Californians, let’s hope the Jackson family, Staples Center, and other businesses involved with the memorial are able to and will pay up.
